Jyunishi Comedy #110 Before starting on this chapter's summary, there's just one thing I want to get out of my system first... While the preview suggested that this would be a mabudachi trio chapter, it's really more of an Ayame's past chapter than mabu-trio although all three of them do make an appearance. Before the chapter begins we have a two page colour illustration title showing the dance from the monkey to the bird; and Takaya explains elsewhere that this is one of the few title illustrations that is unrelated to the story. The story itself starts off in the midst of Golden Week (April 29-May 5; there are 3 statutory holidays in Japan during this time and so most companies close down for the week. This is an extremely popular time for people to travel and so it's usually extremely crowded/busy). Yuki comments how it's too bad that they were unable to go far away this year as there were various things to be taken care of. Tohru's says that everyone's very busy this year but even so, it'd be wonderful if the good weather continued to be so nice. As Yuki agrees, he suddenly realises that Shigure's not around and wonders if he's still asleep (although it's past noon) and comments that he himself had also only recently gotten up... Tohru tells him that it seems that Shigure had gone out early that morning. However, as Tohru goes to wipe the table, she accidentally touches Kyo's hand and the two of them both suddenly remember the incident from the previous day and turn bright red. Tohru, very flustered, apologises to Kyo who yells at her not to worry about it and tells Tohru to give him the cloth; and the two end up arguing over who'll clean the table with Yuki stuck watching. Yuki, conveniently "remembering" something he needed to take care of, tells Tohru that he needs to leave immediately but that he'll be back before dinner and Tohru and Kyo can only watch as Yuki leaves and his hurried footsteps echo through the house. Yuki: That was rough...
Having fled the house, Yuki wanders through town and is mistaken for his elder brother by a woman. When he tells her that Ayame is his elder brother she realises her mistake and that there's no way for Ayame to be so young and comments slowly that he had a younger brother... Back at Shigure's however, Tohru and Kyo still are very self-conscious without realising the other's discomfort. Tohru offers to make tea but Kyo says he doesn't want any. To which Kyo ends up hitting the wall hard very embarrassed at how cute Tohru looks and can't help but feel himself turning into a dirty old man for thinking so. As Kyo wonders if he's no different from such dirty old men, Hana-chan tunes in to his waves and comments to Uo-chan and Megumi that she could feel Kyo turning into a perverted old man and that he was after Tohru. Uo-chan brushes things off saying that Kyo couldn't do anything and wouldn't be able to for some time to still. However, Megumi asks if he should curse him anyways just in case... After the incident with the woman on the street, Yuki ends up going to Aya's place having been asked by the woman to give her regards to Aya. However, when Yuki arrives, Aya greets him at the door in a dress and tells Yuki not to hold back and to throw himself on Aya's breast... As Yuki enters, he's greeted by Mine dressed in her maid outfit, and so he asks if the shop wasn't closed: To which Yuki can only think to himself how it would be nice if one day he'd be able to express what he means across to Ayame better. Mine, about to go to the kitchen to make tea suddenly realises that they ran out of tea with the last pot she'd made and immediately offers to run off and buy some more tea: And without another word, Mine takes off leaving Aya and Yuki alone. Aya brings up the reason why Yuki dropped by and comments that no doubt Yuki'd "finally managed it." Confused, Yuki asks "Huh? What?", to which Aya brings up the running into one another in the bath scenario. Yuki can only tell Aya that he's completely wrong which surprises Aya, who can think of no other reason why Yuki would come see him. When Yuki had called, he'd tried to explain why he'd called only to be cut off by Aya telling him that no doubt things would take time so Yuki should come over to his home immediately instead. And it is only then that Yuki suddenly realised that he didn't *have* to come over as Aya had told him to. Aya asks Yuki what he wanted to talk about and Yuki explains how he'd run into someone Aya knew on the street and had been asked to extend their regards. Surprised, Aya asks if it was a male or female to which Yuki tells him that it was a girl. Apparently, despite his asking her for her name, she wouldn't tell him and instead she'd told him that during high school, she'd also been the student council president for her school. Aya, realising who the woman was suddenly stands up Ayame continues his narration of the story and tells how this student council president charmed many students and attracted many followers; and how he'd assumed that this was only natural. At that time, there were a number of events that their school held in conjunction with the all-girls high school that was their sister school in order to deepend the friendship between the two schools. As Council President, Ayame naturally worked closely with the Council president of the other school who had come to feel more for Ayame than he realised. He was completely oblivious to her feelings as well as the feelings of other people; he'd never even bothered trying to understand other people. Ayame: ...He did Aya couldn't understand what Hatori had meant at that time, but the incident had made enough of an impression so as to remain in the back of his mind. And for a long time, Aya wondered if he hadn't let a lot of important somethings slip through his fingers all this time. Yuki asks if Aya finally realises what it was thanks to Mine; and asks if Mine was Aya's girlfriend. Aya tells Yuki that he doesn't recall having made any sort of announcement of the sort, but Yuki tells him that he can tell anyways. Aya tells how Mine happened to show up in his life one day and how they'd started working together and how he felt so happy being together. Ayame: I have no solid evidence Aya can't help but wish to be able to apologise to the girl he'd hurt so cruelly back in high school and instead wonders if because of that incident, the girl had been so badly hurt she'd lived unhappily all this time. He goes on to wonder if he'd shown up in her dreams every night further tormenting the girl and how that would be too sad. However, Yuki tells him how the woman'd laughed a bit self-consciously and how behind her were two people whom he thought were her husband and child. Yuki instead tells Ayame that he shouldn't presume that people are always unhappy and how that even if the hurt that she'd experienced hadn't completely disappeared, that she'd undoubtedly experienced a lot of even more difficult and also a lot of wonderful things since then and that's why she can smile as she does now. He surmises that she hung through things every day and that she is an incredible person. Ayame considers what Yuki said and suddenly realises that by that line of reasoning, there's no reason for him to apologise to Yuki either. Yuki: Eh... As Aya tells Yuki that he's quite impressed with Yuki's understanding of others, Yuki suddenly asks if Mine knows about Aya being possessed by a spirit. Ayame: That's right Yuki At which time Mine finally returns from her errand. Apparently she decided to stop and buy doughnuts when she'd run into someone. Yuki can only exclaim in shock that there's something behind her. Manabe yells at Yuki that it's him, his partner to which Yuki can only ask why he was there. Apparently, while he finally had a day free, his girlfriend was busy and so he'd been wandering the streets with nothing to do when he'd run into Mine. Apparently the two had met previously (Ch 87) when he'd gone and greeted Ayame. Nabe then comments to Yuki that while he didn't think his tastes went that way, the maid look was actually pretty good and that men were sad creatures. And Yuki can only sympathise for poor Machi (but ends up calling anyways.) On the way home from groceries, the cats in a pet store window go wild seeing Kyo and Tohru can only laugh about how popular he is with them. Beneath the cats, a lone dog can only complain about the noise while around them people stare and can only assume that Kyo is some sort of cat trainer. Back at Aya's, a glassy eyed Machi clings to Mogeta as Mine and Aya try to get her to change outfits. Mine tells her that she'd look good in anything while Aya tells her that once she changes she's to be an emissary to save the world through Moe-power. Yuki thinks to stop Aya and Mine but Nabe complains and says that things were just getting interesting... © 2002-2006 Shadow - All rights reserved. |
