Jyunishi Comedy #107

And we open this chapter with a visit by Tohru, Yuki and Haru to Shishou's to see Rin. Tohru's happy that Rin's alright and cries quietly while Haru's stare says it all:

Isn't it great...
Aren't you happy that you're so close as to have your friend worry about you so much...

Rin on the otherhand is too embarrassed that she ends up yelling at Tohru to quit crying. However it only further emphasizes how embarrassed she is since as Kazuma notes, it's rare to hear Rin yell like that. ^_^

As Tohru and Rin take a walk in the garden, Haru, Yuki and Shishou continue to talk about Rin and how she would be doing her recuperating at Shishou's. If they tried forcing her to go back to either the hospital or the mainhouse, Rin would no doubt wander away again. Haru explains to Yuki that Rin doesn't want Tohru to know the truth about what had happened to her hair or about her having been locked up by Akito and that she doesn't want anything really said to Akito; that she's afraid to have anything more to do with her (Akito). Yuki on the other hand tells Haru that he's really something being able to reach his decisions so quickly and how, if it had been him in his situation, he wouldn't have even had the time to try to cheer Rin up.

Haru: It's okay...
I love you

Yuki: You should say that sort of thing only to Rin

After Yuki and Tohru leave, Haru talks to Rin about how wonderful it was that the time's come for Rin to learn the warmth of friendship. He then goes on to say that they need to give their thanks to Kureno as well. Rin's taken slightly aback as Haru tells her that he's the one who'd saved her from that place. Afterall, she'd been thinking that she wanted to hit the guy, not thank him. But for Haru especially, Kureno's words, telling him to go and not come back were probably what made him act and go after Rin rather than giving up and letting her go.

At Shigure's, Kyo and Tohru talk about how Rin's staying at Shishou's and knowing Shishou, he'd probably end up letting her continue living at his place like this; afterall, he likes to take care of others. Kyo's comment however strikes a chord with Tohru

Kyo: Well, it'd be good for things to be lively at Shishou's.
That way

Shishou won't be lonely from here on either

Kyo tells Tohru that he'll be at Shishou's the next day as well and that if she has a moment, she should come by to chat.

The next day at the dojo, Rin interrupts Kunimitsu and tells him she'll do the cleaning but Kunimitsu's against it since she's still recovering. Rin however walks off with the broom and Kunimitsu can only threaten to tell the others if she doesn't keep things within reason. Rin however feels the need to do something otherwise she could feel her emotions running high as she keeps worrying about what to do from then on when Shigure appears.

Rin tells Shigure that she'd been close and that if she'd been able to finish things, she would've learned how to release the curse from Ren only to have Shigure tell her she was completely taken in by Ren's lie and that she knew no such thing.

Shigure: That...

Was a lie

Ms Ren doesn't know
That sort of thing

You were completely taken in
Most likely you were being used?

In the family fight with Akito

Rin: .........

Shigure: ...I'm not saying you should believe me but
More than you, I know Ren

We get along well

Extremely

However, it seems that Shigure hadn't come by simply to give Rin a hard time, but also to share a bit of information with her. That sooner or later, the curse would break of it's own accord.

Shigure: The day of release will soon come

To be invited to the final banquet

However, as Rin turns on Shigure about that comment since he has no proof of such, she's interrupted by Tohru who asks just when "sooner or later" was. Years or tens of years wasn't good enough. Surprised, Rin asks her what she means that's not good enough, if it meant that she'd eventually be freed from the curse, that was enough for her; it was better than remaining that way forever.

Tohru tells her that it has to be released by next spring otherwise it was no good and runs off. Rin however, realises who Tohru's been thinking of.

From here on

He won't be lonely

Watching Tohru as she wanders and eventually comes upon Kunimitsu and Kyo, we get to see just how much Tohru's sensed Kyo's given in to what awaits him and how she feels about that.
