Being unable to handle having given birth to a child possessed by the spirit of one of the 12 shi, Momiji's mother started to suffer severe psychological problems. As a result, she sought to have her memory concealed thus forgetting about ever having given birth to a child.

From Germany, she met Momiji's father while in university and ended up marrying him. She then gave birth to Momiji. As a result of having her memory "erased", she thinks Momiji is another Sohma clan member's child. Currently, she has a daughter (Momo) in Grade 2 elementary school, and the two of them often go to Momiji's father's workplace to meet him before going home.
