Kana met Hatori when she started working for him as his assistant and ended up falling in love with him. However, her memory was erased on Akito's order. Presently, she made a new boyfriend and has since married with him.

Kana is one of the "outside" members of the Sohma clan. Naturally, she knew nothing of the family memers being possessed by the spirits of the 12shi when she started dating Hatori. A light-hearted and naive woman, the first time Hatori transformed, she didn't know what to do, panicked, and ended up throwing the seahorse into the bathtub.
